International Peace Day

On Thursday 21st September The Ferns took part in 'International Peace Day' The children were encouraged to pick a country of their choice, it could represent their own culture or they could pick a country they had visited, or even one they were interested in and wanted to learn more about. Children came dressed in either the colours of that country, traditional dress from that country or as something well known from that country. We had such a wide variety of outfits, the children put the staff to shame with some of their innovative costumes. We did not realise how many different cultures ran through our school.

We encourage our children to be well educated about different religions and cultures and we celebrate and embrace those differences. The children took part in a variety of activities throughout the day, from learning words, songs and dances from different cultures to tasting the different types of food. All the children embraced the day and learnt lots of new information about many different cultures and countries!
