Year 3 - Autumn Big Bang

Past Productions were invited to Year 3 to perform "The Godly Greeks" which tells the story of a young boy called Joel who falls asleep and wakes up in Ancient Greece. He gets trapped in the stories and has to figure out the endings to get back to his bedroom. He ends up being Icarus in the story of Icarus, Theseus in the story of the Minotaur and Zeus in the story of Prometheus the Giant (which leads into Pandora's Box). The children loved the experience of watching a live show and some lucky year 3s even took part and became characters and props in the story!

After lunch Year 3 took part in two workshops. We looked at a range of Greek vases and plates, looking at the muses and decoration around these ancient objects. Then we joined Past Productions and used a range of Drama techniques. We explored frieze frames and role-play, changing the ending of some of the most popular Greek myths. The children used their facial expressions and body parts to create buildings, characters and settings. If you would like to learn more about our Greek Topic and what the children have been learning about, please see our exiting class blog.
