Skill of the Week: Open Minded

This week's skill is Open Minded.

We encourage open mindedness at the Ferns because we believe that Open Minded children are more open to new experiences, new learning and meeting new people. We find that open mindedness is a critical skill when it comes to children's learning and social development. Here are some of the key questions which children and teachers will be discussing in this week's circle time.

  • What are you if you are open minded? How might an open minded person behave?
  • What are you if you are narrow minded? How might a narrow minded person behave?
  • Why is it better to be open minded than narrow minded?
  • How might this help you develop new friendships and help you further your learning?
