The Power of One

The Power of One

On Monday 5th November we had some visitors in school. A production company performed a piece highlighting bullying and its effects. The performance outlined how bullying is a persistent and purposeful hurtful action and also the different forms it can take. We learnt about how bullying can be physical, emotional, can take the form of excluding someone and also cyber bullying. Some of use even took part in the performance, taking the roles of bully, victim and bystanders. The message of the play was 'The Power of One'. Each one person has a role to play in ensuring that bullying is not evident in our schools. Even as bystanders we have a responsibility to support our friends if we see them being bullied in any way.

As a leaving gift the company left us a 'Power of One' pledge. This is our promise to ensure that we will work our hardest to make sure there is no bullying at the Ferns and that we will support anyone who may be in need of help. Each and every one of us has signed the pledge and it will be displayed in school for us all to see.
