On Monday 12th January the Ferns had some very special visitors. Crocodile Joe came into school to talk to us all about the environment and why it is important to keep our environment clean and tidy. He told us all about his experiences; working in Australia as an environmentalist.
We learnt all about Spartacus, a 14 foot salt water crocodile, which Crocodile Joe helped to save. Spartacus had eaten lots of plastic bags, as he had mistaken them for jellyfish. He told us all about the Aborigines and some children even got to play the didgeridoo.
After that, each class got to meet some of Crocodile Joes reptiles. All of the children were very brave and had the opportunity to touch and hold the reptiles. The children asked lots of questions and everybody had a fantastic day!
